WHEN Alex Tincknell puts his mind to something it invariably runs in tandem with those intangibles called heart and soul.
Alex is investing his new business -Elders Real Estate Redlands – into the fabric of the Redland Football Club as a Gold Sponsor.
And we’re confident the professionalism, hard work and ethics he fervently subscribes to and wholeheartedly employs in his drive to success, will filter through to the Bombers’ as we embark on our 2020 NEAFL campaign.
Alex, with wife Taylor, opened the doors to the Cleveland office in July last year.
It’s a high-pressured industry and the Cleveland team is taking things one step (or should we introduce a sporting analogy here and suggest one game) at a time.
They are in no rush.
They have studied the industry earnestly; have embarked on training programs; have spoken to the best in the business; have learned from first-hand experience; have embarked on 18 months of due diligence so-to-speak, while all the time welding their business model into the fit that best suits the Redlands.
Alex joined the family business – Bayside Slashing – after graduating from Bond University with a Business Law degree and immediately set about increasing the company’s impact on the Redlands.
The company has been operating in the Redlands for 35 years and employs up to 40 staff.
“We serviced about half of the Redlands when I finished my degree and with me being a little on the ambitious side, we took on the rest of the city within two years,” Alex said.
That also included contracts for the islands giving the firm the responsibility of slashing, cutting and clearing from Redland Bay extended to Wellington Point.
“Through my involvement in the family business and getting into real estate investment I started to understand and get a feel for the market and felt there was an opening available to us,” Alex said.
“We’ve started very slowly and have done so on purpose.
“We know what we want and what we need to do to achieve our targets, but we’ll be concentrating on a long-term approach.”
Alex – nor Taylor, for that matter – had never been spellbound by the intricacies of Australian football during the course of his growing up.
He played rugby with the Gold Coast Breakers, represented Queensland Under 18s and was a schoolboy star at John Paul College, but he has family in South Australia and cousins who play the game and he did see a Hawthorn v Geelong match at the MCG, which he thought was highly entertaining.
“I’ve lived in the Redlands all my life and didn’t really know about this semi-professional team that played here,” he said.
It was when he was having the new office air-conditioned that electrician and Redland Bombers’ supporter Dylan St John mentioned to him there was indeed a high-quality team operating out of Victoria Point that he started to investigate further.
“The more Taylor and I looked into it the more excited we became.
“It’s going to be very exciting to be part of the club.
“We are very passionate about Elders Real Estate and the family business and now having a connection with a sporting community and being involved in a team environment is very appealing to us.
“Clubs like the Bombers have a special vitality and we’re looking forward to becoming a part of it.
“It’s something that translates to our own business and the way we operate with passion and enthusiasm and teaming together.”
Alex said he’s eagerly looking forward to “meeting the boys” as well as catching up with the coaching staff, administrators and supporters.
So too will Taylor.
As partner and Co-Director of Elders Redlands, Taylor brings with her a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting.
After almost 10 years working in this field, Taylor is highly experienced in financial administration and accounts management.
Behind every great business are the people who make it work and Alex and Taylor are the perfect combination in getting the recipe right at Elders Real Estate.
It is this combination that makes Alex and Taylor hugely enthusiastic about their Real Estate Agency.
And each of them – as a team – are wildly excited about their new venture with the Redland Bombers.
