The Redland Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Cotter and Stephen Wrigley to their coaching staff for the 2019 NEAFL season.
Both have strong links with State League football throughout Queensland.
Wrigley was selected by the Brisbane Lions in the 2012 Rookie Draft from Labrador FC and made his senior debut with the Lions in the same season. He joined the Redland Bombers in 2014 after recovering from ACL surgery and played 18 games for the club in 2014-15.
He will oversee the backline and at 31 years of age, recently retired, and having played with a number of our current list will be a valuable, level headed asset for Phil Carse in his first season at the helm for the Bombers.
There’s not much Jason Cotter hasn’t done in footy including having been involved in 14 senior premierships as a player, coach, or administrator. He has successfully coached Queensland at Under 18 and Open age levels and also coached the NEAFL representative sides in 2011/12. In 2013 he coached St Mary’s to a NTFL flag
Cotter was an inaugural inductee into the Queensland Australian Football Hall of Fame and is a playing Life Member of Southport Sharks.
Cotter will be the clubs Senior Assistant Coach with his portfolio including Bench Coach when Carse is playing, midfield coach, and a respected sounding board for the other coaches.
Respected Strength and Conditioning Coach Cody Fullarton is back at the club for his sixth season
The Bombers pre-season kicks off on Monday November 26.
