AFTER nine years running The Cheesecake Shop in Victoria Point, owner Mark Hodgson is looking forward to the next 12 months with a heightened sense of anticipation.
Planning is just about complete for an upgrade at the Victoria Point Town Centre shop.
Mark is planning a whole new look.
“It’ll be a new style with new cakes and new designs,” he said.
He envisages work will start in the next three to six months.
The Cheesecake Shop is a Bronze Sponsor of the Redland Bombers and Mark has been involved with the Victoria Point Sharks Club “from day one”.
He has been continually involved with the community assisting various organisations.
The shop also acts as a sounding board for youngsters seeking to find their way into retail and hospitality with many schoolchildren being employed and dealing directly with customers.
The Cheesecake Shop started with just one store in inner suburban Sydney in 1991 and has now grown to a whopping international success with 220 cake bakeries and 1400 employees across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The franchised structure of the business together with the disciplined procedures and recipes have helped create a consistency of quality that has led to the brand achieving exceptionally strong consumer awareness and preference.
Today, The Cheesecake Shop is synonymous with immaculately presented, hand-crafted delicious cakes, loved by a generation of Australians.
The Victoria Point business has a great name for its quality and presentation.
And Mark intends ensuring the wonderful reputation it has achieved over almost a decade continues to flourish.
The new look it will achieve over the next 12 months will play a major role in enhancing its relevance.
There is but one minor problem.
Mark is a long-time AFL supporter and his son, Daniel, has also gravitated to playing the game.
Unfortunately for us, he’s getting his kicks with one of Redland’s chief rivals – Southport – and that’s a bit of a blow.
“Yeah, he plays with Southport because it’s where he started,” Mark said.
Never mind – we’ll sign Daniel with the Bombers when he’s ready for the NEAFL.
