IT’S been tough going for the “foodie” precinct in Victoria Point these last 12 months as a direct result of the new bus stop works, but that hasn’t stopped Zambrero owner Shane Muspratt from continuing to support the Redland Bombers.

The feted Mexican Restaurant – acclaimed for its fresh, healthy ingredients and nutritional benefits – is entering into its fifth year as a Bombers’ sponsor.

“We’ve had a bit of a re-launch now the bus stop works are completed, just to let people know we’re still here, even though the centre has lost a lot of its street frontage, due to the bus stop location,” Shane said.

“Now that the works are complete, we’re hoping things will get back to normal again.”

The continued support directed towards the Bombers – and the juniors – is heartily welcomed by the club, particularly the players who get to enjoy a brilliant and healthy after-match sustenance.

“The last 12 months have been tough, but we want to continue with our community involvement and the relationship with the Bombers – and the juniors – has always been a good one.”

Shane is a former NRL rugby league player and understands the importance of junior sport.

Now as the Queensland Area Developer for Zambrero, Shane continues to encourage all his franchisees to align with sporting clubs in their area, as it is a mutually beneficial partnership within the local scene.

He took much delight when the Victoria Point restaurant won Zambrero Restaurant of the Year at the company’s National Conference in Sydney against a formidable 150 restaurants, where he acknowledged his local area partnerships as pivotal to those accolades.

Shane’s contribution to rugby league in his home area has been recognised by the Shane Muspratt Cup.

The Burdekin Junior Rugby League hosts the annual Under 12 carnival, which this year will be held on April 4-5 and has attracted 24 teams from a wide region including Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and as far west as Mt Isa.

Shane and Zambrero’s continued link with the Redland Bombers is indeed a healthy one.

We urge all supporters to pop down to Zambrero, say hello and feast on a fantastic and healthy Mexican meal.
